    Well I was just checking around the Sega Project Needlemouse blog and I happen to see that Sonic was the only playable character but besides that I happen to find this!

    Well, that's it.
    playable or otherwise
    that means that the only charcter in the whole game will be Sonic and Egg- excuse me, ROBOTNIK. I can say Sayonara to any storyline. And what's worse, if the game becomes a big success, then it's quite possible that they may stay on the path they're taking with Project Needlemouse, which also would mean, that all the characters we've come to know and love, may be gone.
